01. About Me

Hello! My name is Laxmi and I enjoy creating things that live on the internet. My interest in data science started back in university when I decided to try analyzing stock market trends — turns out hacking together custom models taught me a lot about HTML & CSS!

Fast-forward to today, and I've had the privilege of working at a diecast analytics platform, a sports tech startup, and a software solutions provider. My main focus these days is applying data science to solve real-world problems, from bot detection to sports performance analysis.

Data Analyst @ Diecast Detective

Jun 2025 - Present · Sydney, Australia

  • Designed and optimised ETL pipelines in Laravel + SQL for large e-commerce datasets.
  • Refactored backend logic, improving performance and reducing load time by 25%.
  • Collaborated with Laravel team on API integration and data model optimisation.
  • Developed a stat page to calculate the stats of model cars (e.g., Top selling, Detective Price).

  • Automated large-scale JSON data processing pipelines.

Python Backend Engineer @ IT Solutions Nepal

  • Implemented unit testing for Django REST APIs (PyTest & Unittest).
  • Tuned SQL queries and indexes to boost system responsiveness (~20%).

Bot Detection System

Built a full bot-analytics pipeline using server logs, applying anomaly detection to identify unusual IP behaviour. Delivered an interactive Streamlit dashboard to visualise bot activity.
